Use the Document Editor
The Folio Docs editor is an advanced, full-featured document editor experience that does everything a modern document editor should do, plus unique features in Folio that are specific to the documents-inside-Salesforce context.
What you can do in the editor
Modern editor essentials:
- WYSIWYG block-style editing: what you type is what you see
- Rich text formatting (headings, bold, italic, lists, blockquotes, code, etc.)
- Tables, images, and structured blocks
- Slash commands for quick formatting (see Format with Slash Commands)
- Keyboard shortcuts (see Use Keyboard Shortcuts)
Folio-specific features built for Salesforce:
- Live Fields that pull live values from linked Salesforce records, with optional write-back (see Insert Mentions with @)
- Record Links to connect a Document to one or more Salesforce records (see Link Documents to Records)
- Related Lists that render child records of a linked parent inside a Document (see Embed Related Lists)
- Tagging for org-wide organization and Folio Home filtering (see Apply Tags to Documents)
- Document sharing (see Share Documents)
- Templates for repeatable Document creation (see Create Documents from Templates)
Surrounding panes
The editor is surrounded by panes that help you stay in flow:
- Document sidebar: switch between related Documents without leaving the page (View Related Documents)
- Utility panel: sharing, Tags, and per-Document settings (Use the Utility Panel)
- Outline pane: jump between headings (Navigate with the Outline Pane)
