Access Documents and Jots

There are two main ways to access Documents and Jots in Folio. Use whichever fits where you are in your workflow.

From the Folio Home page

Folio Home is your central hub for browsing, searching, filtering, and editing Documents and Jots across the whole org.

  • Open it from the Folio app in the App Launcher, or from the navigation bar of any app where your admin has added the Folio Home tab.
  • Use global search and advanced filters to find what you need.
  • Click any row to open the Document or Jot in an expanded view, complete with the contextual sidebar of related items.

For everything you can do on this page, see Browse Folio Home.

From the editor LWC embedded on a record page

Admins can place the Folio Document Editor and Folio Jot Editor Lightning components directly on any record page in your org. When they do, you’ll see those editors in context, right alongside the record you’re working on.

  • The Folio Document Editor typically appears in the main content area of a record page (e.g. on Account, Opportunity, or Case pages).
  • The Folio Jot Editor typically appears in a sidebar region for quick capture.

Within the embedded editor, the Document sidebar shows you all Documents linked to that record, so you can quickly switch between them without leaving the page. See View Related Documents for more.

Tip: Admins control which record pages have the editors placed on them. See Add Components to Lightning Pages for the admin walkthrough.
