Embed Related Lists

Related Lists let you embed Salesforce list data directly inside a Folio Doc, so the record narrative and the record data live in one place.

Use Related Lists when you want the Document to include an up-to-date view of linked record data (for example: Open Opportunities, Contacts, Cases, or Assets) without switching to a different Salesforce tab.

  1. In a Folio Doc, insert a Related List component (location and naming may vary slightly by org).
  2. Choose the Related List you want to embed (for example: Opportunities on an Account).
  3. Configure how it should render inside the Document.

Control columns

For each embedded Related List, you can choose which columns appear. Typical configuration includes:

  • Add/remove columns
  • Reorder columns
  • Set column widths (where supported)

Apply filters

Embedded Related Lists can be filtered so the Document shows exactly what matters. Examples:

  • Opportunities where Stage ≠ Closed Won/Closed Lost
  • Cases where Status = Open
  • Contacts where Role = Executive Sponsor

When filters are applied, the embedded list updates as the underlying Salesforce data changes.

Tips

  • Related Lists are best paired with Live Fields and Record Links so readers can jump to the source record and still see key fields inline.
  • If you need a narrative explanation of why the data matters, put it above the Related List so the Document reads top-down.
